After massive deaths of over 50,000 bumblebees and other insects in Hillsboro and Wilsonville, the Oregon Department of Agriculture has temporarily banned several types of insecticides for further investigation. According to the press release, the ban is focused on "ornamental, turf, and agricultural pesticide products that are used by both professional applicators and homeowners."

The ban includes any pesticide product containing the active ingredient dinotefuran. Applications to plants is prohibited, including applications to landscape trees and shrubs, nursery and greenhouse plants, turfgrass, forests and agricultural crops.
