Composed of spores of the fungus Metarhizium brunneum strain F52 (formerly Metarhizium anisopliae), this bioinsecticide provides proven pest control efficacy with minimum impact to applicators, non-targets, and the surrounding environment. LALGUARD M52 OD offers growers proven efficacy against the most destructive pests infesting greenhouse crops, which include: Whiteflies, Thrips, Aphids, Mites.
Drench: 40-80 fl oz/100 gal of water. Foliar: 8–64 fl. oz per 1 acre
Target Pest: Root aphids, thrips, whiteflies, vine weevils, aphids, russet mites, two-spotted spider mites, broad mites, bemisia, psyllids, ticks
Description: M52 is a contact bioinsecticide that utilizes a pathogenic fungus for the effective control of thrips, whiteflies and vine weevil in greenhouse ornamentals, protected vegetables, and outdoor fruits and vegetables. M52 fungal spores are suspended in an emulsifiable oil, which can be applied foliar or drenched into the soil.
Use in Biological Control: M52 provides unique contact infection mode of action and it protects traditional chemistry from insect resistance development. The M52 mode of action provides insect control in 3-7 days, depending on environmental conditions, temperature and contact with insect. It is an excellent option for long term insect management. There is no known resistance to M52 thus making it a valuable tool for insecticide resistance management and IPM programs. M52 is also compatible with IPM programs that use beneficial insects and its efficacy is considered comparable to chemical insecticides. It is designed to be applied with standard application equipment. There is only 4-hour reentry interval and 0 hour harvest interval.
