Yellow sticky tape
For 1 acre you need 7200 lineal feet of tape for every double row of plants
Description: The yellow sticky tape is 530 foot long and can be ordered in different widths ranging from 2" to 12". The yellow sticky tape is sticky on both sides, and it has thick cardboard flanges, along with heavy duty plastic plugs with a one inch hole in the center. This will help users quickly and cleanly dispense the product.
Use in Biological Control: Use sticky tape to monitor and reduce populations of Whiteflies, Aphids, Thrips and Fungus Gnats.
For Best Results: Unwind sticky tape and tie to wires, straps or pipes with twine. Avoid heating lines since they may melt the tape. One acre will require approximately 7200 lineal feet of tape to do one row for every double row of plants. Some growers use two horizontal rows of sticky tape, one near the base of plants and another higher so as to be near the growing tips of the plants.
For benches, tape should be strung underneath for fungus gnats; over the top and out of the way of workers for pot plants. It is important to keep the sticky tape as close to the plant canopy as possible. In nursery over wintering houses the tape can be strung near the edge of pots or overhead.
Because sticky tapes collect many insects, it is difficult to use them to monitor insect activity. Sticky cards are more effective and easier to use for monitoring purposes.
