Steinernema feltiae Beneficial Nematodes
Target Pests: Larval stages of fungus gnats (Bradysia spp.), adult and pupal stages of western flower thrips (Frankliniella occidentalis)
Description: Beneficial nematodes are microscopic worms that attack and kill targeted insects, without affecting any other organisms. Within the infected insect, the beneficial nematodes continually reproduce and then spread out for long term control.
Compatibility: Steinernema feltiae is compatible with beneficial insects and other biological control agents. Steinernema feltiae can also be used with fertilizers, insecticides and fungicides. Please see the chemical compatability guide before application.
Nemasys beneficial nematodes are registered material for use in organic agriculture by the Washington State Department of Agriculture and NemaPlus steinernema feltiae beneficial nematodes are OMRI listed.

Beneficial Nematodes
Target Pests: Larval stages of fungus gnats (Bradysia spp.), adult and pupal stages of western flower thrips (Frankliniella occidentalis)
Description: Beneficial nematodes are microscopic worms that attack and kill targeted insects, without affecting any other organisms. Within the infected insect, the beneficial nematodes continually reproduce and then spread out for long term control.
Use in Biological Control: Steinernema feltiae beneficial nematodes are released in their infective juvenile stage to search out and enter insect pests. Once inside, the nematodes release symbiotic bacteria that quickly kill targeted insects. Reproduction inside the insect releases new generations of infective juvenile nematodes that disperse in search of further prey. When applied to the soil, Steinernema feltiae will provide prolonged protection against pest re-infestation.
NemaPlus Steinernema feltiae: NemaPlus steinernema feltiae beneficial nematodes are OMRI listed. It is a 100% natural product with no synthetic ingredients. NemaPlus is a formulation of nematodes in diatomaceous earth mined from abundant mineral deposits. DM consists of millions of fossile skeletons which give the natural product unique properties such as porous structure with a gigantic internal surface, small particle size and low specific weight and is chemically relatively inert/inactive.
This product comes in powder formulation. The powder formulation has a huge advantage in preparation of spray suspension. Poured into water it disperses immediately and releases the nematodes instantly. Can leave a powdery residue in case of foliar spray.
Nemasys Steinernema feltiae: Nemasys steinernema feltiae beneficial nematodes come in trays of 50 million and 250 milion in a crumbly gel carrier. Reduced residue in case of foliar spray. Nemasys beneficial nematodes are registered material for use in organic agriculture by the Washington State Department of Agriculture
Fungus Gnat Control: Fungus gnat larvae can be controlled with Steinernema feltiae by making frequent, light applications or less frequent applications at higher rates. Application rate and interval selected should be based on grower preference, management program, and crop growth characteristics. Regardless of program selected, applications of Steinernema feltiae should begin early in the growth cycle for best results. Applications of S.f should be made to moist soil or growing media. Soil or growing media temperatures should be between 50 ºF-86 ºF (10 ºC-30 ºC). If product is applied over foliage, irrigate immediately with plain water to wash nematodes into soil or growing media. Do not over irrigate to cause runoff from the tops of pots or flush nematodes through the pot. In propagation areas, treat new plants as they are introduced. Interiorscape plants should be treated prior to placement.
Compatibility: Steinernema feltiae is compatible with beneficial insects and other biological control agents. Steinernema feltiae can also be used with fertilizers, insecticides and fungicides. Please see the chemical compatability guide before application.
